Introduction to Aqualyx
Aqualyx is a relatively new, popular treatment that we offer at PHI Clinic. Essentially a fat removal treatment through lipolysis, it provides a solution for those unwanted and difficult-to-shift fat deposits that cause patients distress. Diet does not always improve these stubborn areas, but Aqualyx can improve these problem areas. It is always advised that patients maintain a good exercise regime and healthy diet for longer-lasting results.
What is Aqualyx?
Aqualyx is a specially-formulated compound solution which is introduced to the problem area, via injection. It attaches to fatty deposits and works to break them down over time. The body flushes out the solution and the dissolved fat naturally, over time.
How many session will I need, and how far apart can I have them?
On average, our patients will have 1-6 sessions to see the desired result. It is advised that patients have treatment every 4-6 weeks.
Am I a suitable candidate?
Aqualyx can be used on a wide range of patient types. It is primarily used for small pockets of fat, not for larger areas. It is used to contour the body and improve the overall shape, but it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to compliment Aqualyx treatments.
Who will perform the treatment?
Mr Apul Parikh, PHI’s resident plastic surgeon, is an authority on Aqualyx, having trained delegates nationwide.
What areas can be treated?
Small deposits of fat can be treated with Aqualyx. The most common treatment areas are the tummy, thighs, arms (bicep area) and the chin.
Is there any downtime?
Patients may encounter some slight swelling and sensitivity in the treated area. Please note that if you are having a larger areas treated, you may need to take the following day after treatment to rest. Results will continue to show after a period of time.
Is there any down-time or side- effects?
You may experience some slight swelling and/or bruising a few days after your treatment, but this is normal and will soon go down.
What can I expect to see after my first treatment and how long will it take for me to start noticing the effects?
The treated area will look smaller, with less fat build-up. Please note that it may take up to three weeks for you to notice the full impact. The treatment uses a special formula to break down fat cells in the affected area, and your body works to flush out the fatty acids itself; therefore, depending on your own body, the process may take a short while, or a longer period of time.
When is Aqualyx most effective?
Aqualyx is most effective when the amount of fat is not too dense. It’s ideal for cellulite or smaller areas of fat. It does not result in weight loss, and will not solve serious weight issues. You should maintain a healthy lifestyle, additionally, in order to compliment the treatment.
What can I expect from my consultation and will I have treatment the same day as my consultation?
You will need to come in for a one-on-one consultation; in the consultation our Doctors will discuss the treatment plan and quote you a price and provide an outline of roughly how many sessions will be needed to see the best result. All consultations are thorough and based on the individual. Whilst we are keen to assist patients with their enquiries here at PHI, the best person to evaluate your case is the doctor. Appointment times are reliant on the doctor’s and the patient’s availability. We will do our best to work around you. However, the doctor may not be able to treat a patient the same day as the consultation. If you are travelling from a distance, let us know in advance so we can organise something suitable.
