Our lip filler expertise

Our lip filler treatments are carried out by a specialist team led and trained by Dr Tapan Patel, one of the world’s most sought-after aesthetic doctors and teachers. Clients can be assured that their treatment will be carried out by a highly-experienced specialist, fully versed in the latest, most effective lip filler techniques

Our goal is always to create a lip shape that perfectly suits the client and does not look fake in any way. Our lip filler treatments are carried out with Juvéderm Volbella, the world’s leading filler for soft, beautiful lip enhancement. Dr Tapan Patel is a global trainer for Juvéderm, and shares his unparalleled filler expertise with his team at PHI Clinic.

Patient safety and satisfaction are our top priorities. All lip filler clients have a consultation first, to discuss their goals. We pride ourselves on offering a discreet look. If you feel you would benefit from a little more volume after your initial treatment, this can be discussed at a follow-up.

Best type of filler for your needs

All our lip filler treatments are carried out using a premium-quality temporary filler from the Juvéderm range, specifically formulated for this delicate area. This product has a fine, flexible and silky texture, ensuring that lips are left feeling beautifully soft and natural.

Lip fillers are suitable for addressing a number of concerns including:

  • Naturally thin lips
  • Lips that have lost volume with age
  • Lined lips
  • Naturally asymmetrical lips
  • Poorly defined lip contour
  • Wanting a more natural look after previous fillers have been dissolved

How long do lip fillers last?

best lip filler clinic in london

How long do lip fillers last?

Lip fillers can be expected to last 12-15 months. They are broken down naturally by the body over time, and the rate at which this happens varies from person to person. Patients will need to return for a top-up to maintain their results.

Dissolving lip filler

Not all lip filler treatments are carried out to the exceptional standards we provide at PHI Clinic. Filler treatments remain unregulated in the UK, and we have often seen the effects of this first-hand. In unskilled hands, lips can be left over-inflated, fake looking, lumpy, distorted or uneven. Badly-placed filler can migrate beyond the lip border, creating an obviously artificial look. All of these issues can cause embarrassment and distress to the client.

Fortunately, our experts at PHI Clinic are usually able to correct these issues. As long as a hyaluronic acid filler has been used, it can be dissolved by injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase into the lips. This enzyme naturally occurs in the body, and is the reason hyaluronic acid lip fillers break down over time. Injecting higher levels allows our experts to dissolve unwanted lip filler quickly and effectively.

Once the old filler has been dissolved, we can perform a fresh lip filler treatment at a later date to create the ideal natural-looking shape.

Safe and effective treatment

Although a lip filler treatment itself is quick and simple, the results are only as good as the practitioner. At PHI Clinic, we are proud to offer the gold standard in lip enhancement. Our lip filler treatments are carried out by a specialist team led and trained by Dr Tapan Patel, one of the world’s most sought-after aesthetic doctors and teachers. Clients can be assured that their treatment will be carried out by a highly-experienced specialist, fully versed in the latest, most effective lip filler techniques.

Are lip fillers safe?

PHI Clinic has a highly-experienced team, renowned for offering subtle, beautiful and natural-looking lip fillers results. We use only the best, medical-grade fillers, which have a very low risk of allergic reaction. However it is important to note that lip fillers can go wrong when injected by inexperienced, poorly-trained practitioners. Risks include lumpy, over-filled and fake looking lips. Dermal fillers are unregulated in the UK, so we would always urge patients to only have lip fillers with an experienced, reputable and fully insured practitioner.

What are lip fillers made of?

All the dermal fillers used at PHI Clinic contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in skin and so has a very low allergy risk.

All our lip filler treatments are carried out using a premium-quality temporary filler from the Juvéderm range, specifically formulated for this delicate area. We use Juvederm Volbella, a dermal filler created especially for the lips. It has a silky texture, ensuring that lips are left feeling beautifully soft and natural. Its texture feels just like the natural lip tissue, but also holds its shape once it has been injected, enabling the results to last for months.

Do lip fillers hurt?

This is one of the biggest concerns patients have, particularly if they have never had lip fillers before. Fortunately, most patients find this a very tolerable treatment. Many only need a simple application of ice to numb the area before the injection, but patients can opt to have topical anaesthetic cream if they prefer. We always reassure clients that the injection itself contains lidocaine so the area will go numb after the first few injections.

Are lip fillers right for me?

Lip filler treatments are suitable for addressing a number of concerns including naturally thin lips, lips that have lost volume with age, and asymmetrical lips. At your initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns and take your medical history to ensure you are suitable.

What is the aftercare for a lip filler treatment?

For dermal filler aftercare, we recommend you avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours after lip filler, as it may potentially worsen swelling and bruising. For the first 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise and saunas, and do not rub or massage your lips. Keep the area clean and avoid lip make-up for the first 24 hours. Use an ice pack to reduce swelling.

Can I get permanent lip fillers?

While there are permanent fillers available on the market, we do not use them at PHI Clinic, nor do we believe in them. We only use temporary hyaluronic acid fillers, which can be dissolved if a patient wishes. We always reassure our lip filler patients that they are fully in control of their results.
