miraDry underam sweat treatment
miraDry is a safe, clinically proven, FDA-cleared solution for significantly reducing underarm sweat. It’s an outpatient procedure that doesn’t involve any surgical incisions or cuts. Each appointment generally lasts about an hour. miraDry is the only FDA-cleared procedure that provides a lasting reduction of underarm sweat in a completely non-invasive way. Other treatment options, including antiperspirants and toxins, aim to temporarily disable the sweat glands for varying lengths of time – requiring repeat treatments to maintain effectiveness.
While sweating is an essential body function for temperature-control, the underarms house less than 2% of the body’s sweat glands.
How does miraDry UK work?
miraDry UK works by delivering precisely controlled electromagnetic energy to the underarm area, eliminating the underarm sweat glands. Two procedures are typically recommended, 3 months apart, to maximize the quality and duration of results.
miraDry side effects
The safety data from the three clinical studies of miraDry UK to effectively treat under-arm hyperhidrosis has been reported as very good.
Common side effects include mild to moderate temporary swelling and discomfort in the treatment area lasting about one week. Mild numbness or altered sensation of the skin in the underarm area can last several months.
Discomfort may last anywhere from 1 week to 2 months. Redness may occur from device suction and will last for a few days.
Typically only mild pain medication and use of ice for a few days is required to minimize discomfort.

“Although I didn’t excessively sweat, working in London and being on and off the tubes and running around between meetings meant that I was often self-conscious about having sweaty arm pits. I always had a bottle of spray deodorant in my bag and would reapply it a couple of times during the day. The MiraDry procedure itself was a little uncomfortable but not painful at all. I was a bit sore and swollen for a couple of days afterwards, however, it was totally worth it. I am absolutely amazed by the results and how instant they were. I have not worn any deodorant at all since having the procedure and have not had sweaty or smelly arm pits, despite the fact we had a heat wave the week after my procedure. It is incredibly freeing to not have to worry about sweat. I can now put my arms up on the tube in the summer without any embarrassment.”
