Facials have come a long way from their humble beginnings, and now can be used to improve the texture and tone of skin, reintroduce moisture, and even address acne in some cases. Below we have compiled some of the most common things we are asked, for a comprehensive list of Beauti-PHI Peel questions.
Beauti-PHI Peel Questions : the treatment
What technology does the Beauti-PHI use?
The system uses diamond tip microdermabrasion, vacuum suction, and a topical serum. The topical serums used will differ depending on your skin’s specific needs as assessed by your clinician.
How long does the Beauti-PHI Peel take?
A usual treatment will take around 30 minutes, but an extended 45 minute option is available, in which LED light therapy is used. This light therapy is used to decongest and purify problem skin, as well as helping to balance production of oil.
Does the treatment hurt?
Other than a mild rough and sucking sensation from the microdermabrasion and dermapen respectively, most patients report that this is slightly uncomfortable rather than painful. These sensations do subside once the treatment is over.
Beauti-PHI Peel FAQs : indications and contraindications
Will it address pigmentation and melasma?
While the Beauti-PHI Peel is not formulated specifically to treat conditions like pigmentation and melasma, some patients report improvement in their indications following treatment. This is very individual aspect, and therefore should be discussed with your clinician during consultation, wherein they can assess your skin.
Can it reduce acne flare ups and spots?
For those who suffer from acne, the condition may temporarily look worse after the treatment, but will improve with additional treatments and advised aftercare. Again, this is a highly individual aspect, and can be discussed within consultation.
Are there any contraindications?
The Beauti-PHI Peel is not suitable for those using Vitamin A based products like retinol and tretinoin, as these can cause increased sensitivity. It is not recommended to have the treatment if you have active cold sores, active acne, lesions, or unidentified facial marks.
Can I have this treatment if I have psoriasis?
We would not recommend having a Beauti-PHI Peel if you suffer from psoriasis on the face.
Beauti-PHI Peel Questions : results and aftercare
How long do results last?
Initially, we recommend having treatments every 2-4 weeks to maintain results, though this can be supplemented at home with a good skincare routine. Your clinician will discuss this further with you during your treatment, as they are able to identify the best way to proceed following your peel.
Can you wear makeup after having a Beauti-PHI Peel?
We always recommend waiting 24 hours following a peel before applying makeup, though if you have a treatment in the morning, it is usually fine to wear makeup in the evening.
Is there any specific aftercare I need to follow?
We advise that exercise should be limited for 24 hours following treatment, and a broad spectrum sun cream should be applied in order to avoid being more susceptible to sunburn and hyperpigmentation. Your clinician will discuss a skincare routine to follow after you have your Beauti-PHI Peel in order to supplement your results.
How much does it cost?
The Beauti-PHI Peel starts at £200 per 30 minute session, and £250 for a 45 minute session with LED light therapy.
