Introduction To Mole Removal Treatment

Almost each and every one of us has a mole or mark on the skin that we would rather not have, be it an unsightly birthmark, mole or skin-tag.

Commonly it is much more of an issue for us than anyone we may interact with, and is often benign with no concerns of becoming cancerous, but none-the-less, self-consciousness and vanity would lead us to be without it if we had the chance.

Your consultation

At your mole removal consultation, there will be an assessment of the skin complaint; the aim here is to understand the size, colour and location of the mole. There have been many techniques used to treat unwanted moles or skin-tags, but the first and most important step of management is a full examination of the mole to diagnose whether it is benign or cancerous.

When you visit our “Mole Clinic’ at PHI, you will be offered a comprehensive assessment by our team of highly experienced, first class clinicians to determine the treatment best suited to you. Our team of expert consultants at the “Mole Clinic” consists of a plastic surgeon, a laser expert and an experienced cosmetologist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our practitioners will help you to choose the most suitable and best treatment option for optimum results. Cosmetic Surgery is a very popular option for mole removal, and either complete removal (excision) or shaving of a mole requires expert, skilful surgery to achieve a minimal scar within the natural creases of the skin.

If you are particularly covered, the surgeon will assess each mole individually, determining which moles are suspicious and which are benign. The priority is to remove suspicious moles, those which are benign can be removed at a later stage.

There is a limit on how many moles can be removed in one session, and this is dependent on how many the surgeon can remove whilst the patient is under anaesthetic. The patient will be given a realistic view of how many growths can be removed in each session, and if more than one treatment is needed, patients can next come in a few days after their previous session.

If you have moles in hard-to-reach places like your back, it is advisable that you ask your partner, friend or family member to check these for you. The best way to screen your moles is by regularly taking pictures and tracking their mutations. If you do not have someone who can check your moles, we suggest you go to your GP or a Melanoma specialist who can determine their nature.

You are advised to wear a waterproof dressing on the treated area for a few days after treatment. These allow you to shower and bath, whilst protecting the area.

Patients will receive follow-ups at the clinic to assure the patient has taken well to treatment.

The price for Moles treatments start from: £750
