What Are Dermal Fillers?

what are dermal fillers

An Age Old Problem

Sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles are all tell-tale signs of the ageing process. As we age, both the skin and fat pads migrate down the face and can make us look extremely fatigued. The injectables industry is rising to the problem, but many people are still unaware of the ins and outs of the non-surgical options, so what are dermal fillers and Botox?

Non-Surgical Alternatives

With so many non-surgical options available nowadays, there really is little need to opt for surgery anymore. Some of the most beneficial and effective treatments for facial lines are injectable. As well as Botox® anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers achieve skin rejuvenation without the scalpel.

What are dermal fillers and how can they help?

Wrinkle Removal

Facial fillers or facial volumisers are made up of a range of ingredients. At PHI Clinic, we only use the Juvederm range from Allergan. They are soft with a malleable consistency, allowing for a natural, subtle result. Unlike traditional collagen fillers, the Juverderm range – including Voluma, Volbella and Volift – avoid that clunky, overdone look.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural ingredient that is already existent in our bodies. Responsible for attracting and retaining water, hyaluronic acid dermal filler treatment not only adds structure and volume to the face, it also boosts the complexion.

As well as offering corrective solutions to the signs of ageing, we also take preventative measures earlier on to slow down and lessen the effects. We consult each and every patient in person and draw up bespoke treatment plans to determine the best plan of action.

Less OUCH! More WOW!

With built-in lidocaine, the Juvederm range are especially good for those who are undergoing treatment for the first time, who are perhaps slightly deterred by the pain element. In addition, we can apply topical anaesthetic to the treated area beforehand, to ensure comfort at all times. Using a small cannula, the product is administered to precise and strategic points of the face to lift and add scaffolding.
