Does CoolSculpting Work?

Fat cells are distributed around the body, with some areas hosting a higher concentration of fat than others which raises the question: how does CoolSculpting work to reduce the appearance of stubborn fat? Whilst overall weight loss can be achieved from a nutritional diet and exercise, fat cells still remain in the body which can create the appearance of stubborn fat.
Unlike other cells in the body, fat cells are not naturally killed off through the apoptosis process. Using fat-freezing technology, CoolSculpting works by selectively targeting fat within areas of the body that are creating concerns such as bra fat, love handles and stomach fat. Other areas can also be treated.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?
Cryolipolysis is the technology behind CoolSculpting, a non-invasive fat-freezing treatment that selectively targets stubborn fat in areas of the body, to break down fat cells. This is achieved without harming any other tissue in the body, as fat cells have a higher freezing temperature than surrounding tissue. Over time, the body’s natural processes will flush the removed cells from the body. CoolSculpting can reduce the number of fat cells in multiple treatment areas up to 27% after 6 months, with more than 7 million treatment cycles being performed worldwide.
Unlike surgical treatments such as liposuction, receiving treatment with CoolSculpting eliminates any need for incisions, downtime, and scarring, whilst also achieving effective results. At PHI Clinic, we don’t compromise when it comes to the safety of our patients. We use the highest quality devices and products, and won the Best Clinic In London award for three years running.

Am I Suitable For Treatment for fat reduction treatment?
Suitability for treatment is really dependent on the individual case. Just as surgery is not suitable for everyone, there are some cases in which CoolSculpting is not beneficial. For best results, the patient will have pockets of fat that can be pinched between the hands. For those who have denser pockets of fat or an ‘apron’ of fat, CoolSculpting might not be the best solution as fat freezing is not a weight loss solution.
