Forehead Botox is one of the most common Botox® treatments we perform at PHI, being the first area in which Botox® was cleared by the FDA for cosmetic application, making it the most long-standing aesthetic use of the product. In 2002, botulinum toxin type A was approved for the treatment of frown lines between the eyebrows, also known as glabella lines or ‘11s.’
Since then, the uses have expanded to include wrinkles all over the face as well as conditions like Bruxism and Hyperhidrosis. Botox® is a brand name for botulinum toxin, produced by Allergan, who also manufacture Juvederm dermal filler and CoolSculpting devices.
Forehead Botox works by temporarily relaxing a targeted muscle, so it moves less on animation than it would normally. This, in turn, means that the overlying skin moves less, reducing the appearance of dynamic fine lines and wrinkles across the face for approximately 3-4 months.
Forehead Botox can take less than half an hour to perform and does not usually require anaesthetic. Both frown lines and forehead lines can be addressed in the same appointment by one of our highly trained doctors. Prices vary by practitioner at PHI Clinic, and every treatment requires a prior consultation in order to determine whether Botox® would be the best course of action.
