Injectable fillers are becoming increasingly well known, with Google searches for the term more than quadrupling in the last ten years. While their popularity is on the rise, there is still an air of mystery around the treatment as misinformation and misunderstandings are still rife.
At PHI, we use injectable fillers to treat a wide range of indications, from performing lip filler treatments to full face augmentations. We exclusively use the Juvederm Vycross range by Allergan, the products from which are known for their safety and efficacy, and last for as long as 24 months.
So how do we use injectable fillers?
Dermal filler is used in cheek enhancement treatments to improve or redefine the contours of the face. This can also have the effect of reducing the appearance of jowls as the filler provides a lift to the lower face.
Chin fillers can be used to correct the appearance of asymmetries in the face, as well as reducing the apparent length or width of the chin. This can be used as an alternative to surgery, or as a precursor to a procedure to see what surgical results may look like.
Perhaps the most well known dermal filler treatment, lip enhancement often gets negative attention in the media as extreme results are sensationalised. At PHI, our doctors are highly trained in performing subtle lip augmentation treatments that maintain balance.
As well as being appropriate for isolated treatments like lip enhancement and chin augmentation, dermal fillers can be used to treat the full face holistically in order to address facial sagging or as part of a facial rejuvenation treatment. After assessing the entire face, our doctors will inject dermal filler into strategic areas across the face to lift and reshape, for a subtle but effective augmentation.
Non-surgical nose job
Dermal fillers can be used in a no knife nose job to augment the shape of the nose. As well as correcting concerns like asymmetry and a pronounced hump, injectable fillers can be introduced into the nose to decrease the apparent size by strategically adding product into target areas.
Brighten & Refresh
Tear trough treatment
There are many factors that can influence the development of bags or dark circles under the eyes, like tiredness, loss of volume, and more. In some cases, injectable fillers can be used to improve the appearance of these bags by replacing lost volume in a tear trough treatment, though this will vary from person to person.
6 month moisturiser
One of the products in the Juvederm Vycross range, Volite, has a more runny formula, making it the perfect treatment to reintroduce moisture into the skin. In a Volite treatment, small amounts of the product are injected across the face to improve hydration for as long as 12 months, contrary to its given nickname, the 6 month moisturiser.
