Lots of people assume that the only way to affect the shape of the nose is by going under the knife in a nose job. This certainly used to be the case, but there is now a rhinoplasty alternative that don’t involve scalpels. At PHI, we perform non-surgical nose reshaping using dermal fillers to change the apparent shape and size of the nose for those seeking an augmentation.
Rhinoplasty Alternative Using Dermal Fillers
We use Juvederm fillers from the Vycross range for our rhinoplasty alternative, which are manufactured by Allergan, the same company that makes Botox. These dermal fillers are designed to add volume into target areas to augment the shape of the face, in this case being applied to the nose.
Our non-surgical rhinoplasty alternative treatment can be used to address concerns like a bump on the nose, or dorsal hump, as well as asymmetry, scarring or imperfections following surgery, a drooping or bulbous tip, and more. Despite the fact that this treatment works by adding volume, it can also be used to decrease the apparent size of the nose by balancing the profile for a subtle enhancement.
While dermal fillers can be used to enhance the appearance of the nose without surgery, these results are temporary, having clinical results of up to 24 months, though anecdotal evidence from various practitioners points towards some patients experiencing outcomes for as long as 3 years. This is due to the nature of the filler, which is broken down by the body’s natural processes over time.
This can often be seen as a positive aspect though, as so many of our patients request a non-surgical nose job as a precursor to surgery, in order to see what future results may look like.
