We are healthier country today
It is safe to say that the population, especially in the UK, has become much more health-conscious than in previous decades. Statistics actually show that a staggering 73% of the public part take in a work out regime at least once or twice a week.
Protein shakes and high-energy smoothies are becoming more and more popular, we all love shakes and super-food juices; city workers, mothers, teenagers, students – everyday people just like you and I have strapped up to ride this ‘smoothie wave’
Do you want to know what is so great about these juices and smoothies, though? Well, it’s simple: they’re tasty; they’re healthy and they are now available pretty much anywhere.
The best blended recipes
If shakes are a bit thick for you, then you can still choose juices or smoothies, which are both proven to provide a good source of vitamins and minerals. If you blend your morning smoothie with the right ingredients, then it can also contribute towards weight loss.
The sale of blenders has supposedly risen by 20% within the last three years, and people say this is due to an increase in the popularity of homemade blended smoothies and juices. If you’re inspired and fancy trying out some blends of your own, here are a few respected recipes that professionals have suggested with a good source of nutrition to kick start your day or give you an energy boost after a workout:
· Banana smoothies are always a winner. They taste great, and provide a good source of energy. Simply add some ginger to soothe digestion, heartburn or a headache. A simple, basic smoothie, full of natural goodness.
· Blend together raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and any other berry that you fancy. Add all into a blender with a drop of almond milk and you are on the way to an absolute ‘breakfast banger’. Additionally, try a tablespoon of flaxseeds in the mix, which are a fabulous source of protein. This is a natural, perfect pre-workout and healthy thirst-quencher.
· Anything green – spinach, mint, green tea, celery, broccoli and much more. Blend together with water and soya milk to have the best cup of antioxidants and a detox-drink to die for.
A nutritious, daily smoothie or blended juice can help us to consume the recommended daily intake for fruit and veg. They are quick and easy, and with the right flavoured fruits even our children can enjoy them!
