ThermiVa FAQs

We have compiled the most common questions we receive regarding treatment into this list of ThermiVa FAQs for all the information you need about this non-surgical vaginal tightening option. Last year, we introduced ThermiVa into PHI Clinic, and have performed so many successful treatments for women already. This treatment comes from Thermi, who specialise in producing treatments that tackle skin laxity all over the body.

ThermiVa FAQs
How does ThermiVa actually work?
ThermiVa uses radio-frequency technology, applied to the specific indication, to encourage collagen and stimulate new blood vessel formation, to improve the structure of the vaginal wall. This also helps with sensation and lubrication, for complete treatment of both inner and outer vaginal areas.
How does ThermiVa help with indications like vaginal dryness and discomfort?
ThermiVa improves the blood flow to the area, which increases oxygen delivered to the cells, in turn helping them to function more effectively. As a result of this, many patients report that they notice a significant difference in comfort levels through everyday life.
What are the benefits of having ThermiVa?
ThermiVa is non-invasive and non-ablative, and functions as a non-surgical treatment, for which no anaesthesia is required. This can be performed in a regular clinic and offers bespoke treatment tailored to your comfort levels without any downtime.

vaginal tightness
How does ThermiVa increase vaginal tightness?
Using radiofrequency, the temperature of tissue is raised slightly to improve collagen growth in the long term, as well as encouraging the regeneration of tissue structure for an improvement in skin laxity.
How soon will I notice results?
Results can be noticed almost immediately with a reduction in mild to moderate urinary stress incontinence, vaginal atrophy, vaginal dryness, and even sexual orgasmic dysfunction. Skin laxity is also addressed, and optimal results are seen at around a month after your course of treatments is completed.

ThermiVa treatment
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend a course of three treatments for optimal results with a month between each 30 minute session. This is a maintenance treatment, and as such you will see better results over time if you receive top up sessions once a year.
Is there anything that could stop me receiving a ThermiVa treatment?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we will not perform a ThermiVa treatment. It is also not suitable for those currently suffering from infection in or around the area of treatment.
