Introduction
Profhilo® is an innovative treatment that can be used to address sagging skin across the face and neck. It stimulates production of collagen and elastin, vital proteins in skin that give it strength and elasticity, for an improvement in skin laxity. Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid, similar to the dermal fillers we use at PHI, which is a sugar found naturally in skin and tissue that attracts and retains water.
However, Profhilo differs from dermal fillers as it firms the skin by rebuilding new skin cells rather than by adding volume.

What Can Profhilo Treat?

Technical Information
Profhilo is a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has ongoing stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo encourages the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin. Profhilo has a high concentration of hyaluronic acid that not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The treatment is suitable for men and women and has skin benefits for patients of all ages.
During treatment, Profhilo is injected beneath the skin’s surface. It rapidly disperses throughout the skin to deliver hydration, with no massage required and no risk of visible lumps or nodules. Due to the way it disperses, only 10 injection sites are needed to treat the entire face and downtime is minimal. We recommend avoiding physical strain and sports for the first 24 hours post-treatment, but you can resume light activity and your normal daily routine immediately following your appointment. We also advise avoiding steam rooms, saunas, and intense UV or sun exposure for the first few days after your treatment is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Each treatment plan will vary depending on the individual patient and their areas of concern. However, as standard the treatment protocol requires two treatments minimum, spaced at 4-6 week intervals, followed by a maintenance treatment every 6 – 12 months as required.
Some concerns such as the neck and the level of skin laxity can often require 3 or more treatments, however this will be assessed by your practitioner.
Profhilo can last for around 6 months, though this may vary depending on the individual.
Profhilo is suitable for people of all ages and skin types who want to improve the hydration and elasticity of their skin. As with all treatments, results can vary from person to person depending on the skin laxity, texture and level of sun damage.

The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands. Areas of the body can also be treated in some people such as arms, knees and abdomen.
Some mild bruising or swelling may be experienced, as with any injectable treatment, but this will vary from person to person and should disappear within a few days.
