Acne occurs when the individual undergoes hormone level changes, particularly during puberty. The sebaceous glands near the hair follicles produce an oil known as sebum. When hormone levels are unbalanced, they can trigger excess production of this oil and this contributes to the inflammation and pus that is visible in a patients with acne.

Theraclear uses a vacuum technique to open up and unblock pores, reducing the number of blackheads in the treated area. It then delivers a special blue light which destroys the bacteria and targets the sebaceous gland to prevent the excess production of sebum. Whilst Theraclear can be used in isolation, it is often combined with product and/or complimentary treatments to enhance the results and reduce treatment time.
