Acne Scarring Treatment : Laser
Pulsed Dye Laser
Pulsed dye laser technology aims long pulses of light at the surface of skin in order to reduce the appearance of redness, including acne scarring. The pulsed dye laser device we use at PHI Clinic is called the V-Beam and is completely non-ablative, meaning that there is minimal downtime.
Laser Resurfacing
At PHI, we have been known for our treatment of scars, as one of Dr Tapan’s areas of special interest. Laser resurfacing is one of the treatments we offer to reduce scarring all over the body. This treatment is known within the cosmetic industry as being effective for treating concerns commonly regarded as stubborn, like acne scarring.
Acne Scarring Treatment : Alternatives
Ultraformer
Ultraformer uses HIFU technology, high intensity focussed ultrasound, to encourages collagen production in the deep levels of skin in order to encourage healing for an improvement in the appearance of scars. As well as acne scarring treatment, Ultraformer can also be used to lift and tighten skin on the face and neck.
Dermapen
Dermapen treatments have become very popular recently, seeing a surge in coverage on social media, especially Instagram. The Dermapen uses microneedling to encourage collagen synthesis, creating a controlled wound that the body’s natural processes then work to heal for a reduction in scarring.
