Botox® Gone Wrong

Unfortunately, it is a sad truth that in some cases, Botox treatment does not go as planned or resemble the desired result of the patient. The reasons behind Botox gone wrong are plentiful, and it is important to do your research before embarking on appearance-altering procedures.

At PHI Clinic, London, it is our goal to not only treat our patients with integrity and professionalism, adding to that an artistic quality for sophisticated results, but to also educate and inform others so that they make the right decision when it comes to their bodies.

Before you book you botulinum toxin treatment, ask yourself – and your practitioner – the following:

1. What do I want to achieve with treatment?

This is probably the most important question of all. You need to really think about what it is you would like from treatment, and be realistic about the achievable outcome. Your practitioner should answer all your questions prior to treatment, and explain to you how they intend on treating your specific concerns.

Practitioners with your best interests in mind will let you know in advance whether a certain request is achievable or possible, and will also go by your medical history to make sure your safety is protected at all times.

2. How much experience has the practitioner got?

The age of a practitioner is not as telling as the amount of procedures they have undertaken. Ask your practitioner for statistics on how many treatments they have performed during their career, but also how frequently they carry out these procedures, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet so experience is high on the list for avoiding botox gone wrong.

3. What products are they using?

Botox is a brand. It has been around for over 100 years and there are extensive research papers and clinical studies to back its efficacy. There are other brands of botulinum toxin, but it is important to make sure you know exactly what product is being used. At PHI Clinic, we only ever use the authentic Botox® by Allergan.

4. What does their work look like – Botox gone wrong ?

Usually, the majority of practitioners will have a portfolio of their work, so you can see examples of the treatments they perform and the type of results they achieve. It is important to understand that those who have consented to their photo being shown may not be of the same facial shape or age as you, so the outcome they have gained may not be similar to your particular case.

5. Do I like the feel of the place?

The best way to determine whether the clinic is the right fit for you, is to come and visit. You can see for yourself what environment you will be treated in, and meet the clinician in person.
