Dermal Fillers For Skin Hydration
The dermal fillers we use here at PHI all belong to the Juvederm Vycross range, and are hyaluronic acid-based. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that naturally occurs in skin, that retains up to 1000 times its own weight in water, making it perfect for treatments like non surgical rhinoplasty, non surgical chin augmentation, and lip enhancement, as well as general skin hydration.
Volite is known as the long term moisturiser, boosting skin hydration for up to six months after one injectable treatment. It is perfect for treating fine lines and wrinkles, improving texture and tone of skin, and creating a fresh summer glow through colder months. By injecting small amounts of product into multiple points on the face, the HA solution attracts and retains water for skin hydration.
Things to consider when having a skin hydration treatment
Prior to treatment, we require that you attend a consultation to determine your areas of concern and whether Volite is right for you. During this consultation you should discuss your expectations for treatment, as well as disclosing any medication you take that may affect the results, like aspirin, anticoagulants, antibiotics, and Roaccutane. No alcohol should be consumed within the 24 hour period leading up to your treatment.
Following treatment, some redness and pin prick marks will be visible due to the nature of the treatment, but these should settle down within a few hours. We recommend not applying makeup to the area and avoiding alcohol for at least twelve hours, and waiting 48 hours before engaging in strenuous activity. You should also stay away from extreme sun or UV exposure, freezing temperatures, and saunas for two weeks.
Juvederm Volite contains Lidocaine, an anaesthetic, to reduce any discomfort felt during treatment, but if you have concerns about pain, you should discuss these with your clinician in your initial consultation. We see this as an ongoing treatment, and recommend top ups every 6-9 months for optimal results.
