Liposuction in the Past

In the past, liposuction techniques have been scrutinised for being painful, not particularly safe, and for being quite lengthy. Whilst the results were good, patients weren’t exactly enjoying their experience.

New and Improved

Thankfully, liposuction has been around for over 15 years now, and in this time methods have become more advanced, sophisticated, and effective. At PHI Clinic, we are proud to house some of the most refined methods of liposuction to date.

Laser Liposuction

One of the most popular methods of liposuction, is laser lipo. Using a small laser fibre, Mr Hassan Shaaban – a highly-accredited consultant surgeon – accurately delivers energy to the affected area. This light energy produces a temperature of around 50 degrees Celsius, which works to safely break down fatty deposits and eliminate the septae between fat cells which cause this ‘cottage cheese’ effect.

Once the excess fat has been drained, Mr Shaaban aims the laser fibre towards the epidermis in order to stimulate collagen production. This will contribute to healthier-looking, tighter skin. As this process is gradual, patients will notice a significant decrease in fatty deposits, but the skin’s elasticity will improve over a longer period of time.

Downtime?

As with any surgery, there are some risks attached. Patients may see some slight swelling and bruising after the procedure, but they are advised to wear pressure garments to speed up the healing process and to better the results. This procedure is minimally-invasive, with just a tiny incision made to the epidermis.
