Introduction to skin tightening

It is expected that the weight loss industry will be worth a whopping £220 billion by 2017 (source: The Metro). It is one of the largest industries worldwide, as many battle with diet plans and strict exercise regimes.

Sometimes, even when the weight is shifted, dieters are left with sagging skin, and cellulite is still visible. It can be very disheartening for those who have achieved so much, to not see their desired result when they look in the mirror.

This is where skin tightening treatments come in; cellulite, for example, impacts 80% of women over 20. It is not just those who are overweight who suffer with it, and it is not always something that can be cured with exercise alone. We offer a wide range of skin tightening and body contouring treatments at PHI, both surgical and non-surgical.

Exilis is a non-surgical option to help tighten slight skin sagging.

What is Exilis?

Using radiofrequency, the Exilis heats the affected area to dissolve fat and helps to tighten the skin. The pulses deliver help to reduce the volume of fat cells and accelerate collagen production, in order to firm the skin and improve the skin’s texture.

How many session will I need, and how far apart can I have them?

On average, our patients will have 6-8 sessions of Exilis to see the desired result. It is advised that patients have treatment every 2 weeks.

Am I a suitable candidate?

Exilis is used to treat small areas of loose skin, ideal for those who wish to firm and tighten the skin.

Who will perform the treatment?

Senior Aesthetic Therapist, Jodie Retallick, is a highly trained clinician who has worked with various lasers and devices throughout her career, and previously trained delegates for ABC Lasers across the country.

What areas can be treated?

Most areas of the body can be treated. The most popular areas are the stomach and thighs.

Is there any downtime?
