What will happen at my consultation?

We will talk about your lip concerns and discuss how we can address them with cosmetic treatments like lip injections. After assessing your individual lip shape, we will outline a bespoke treatment plan based on the type of filler used and the results we expect to achieve for you. We will only proceed once we are confident we can meet all your expectations. Photographs will also be taken to monitor your results, allowing us to compare the natural enhancement over time.

Who will perform my lip filler treatment?

Your treatment will be carried out by one of PHI Clinic’s experienced practitioners, which includes specialist doctors and nurses. The team is handpicked and trained by clinic founder Dr. Tapan Patel, who is a global trainer for Juvéderm, the manufacturer of the hyaluronic acid dermal filler used at PHI Clinic.

What does lip filler feel like once it’s injected?

Lips injected with Juvederm Volbella should feel exactly like natural-looking lips: soft, smooth, and supple, similar to how natural lip fillers feel.

Can lip fillers be used to correct asymmetry?

A beautiful lip shape is about symmetry as much as volume. Many clients come to us because they want to correct an asymmetrical shape or an imbalance between the top and bottom lip. Our skilled practitioners can address both lip size and shape in the same treatment, for optimal results. We can also help with smokers lines and nose to mouth lines.

I don't want a ‘trout pout’, will this happen to me?

The trout pout is the very opposite of the lip filler result we offer or endorse at PHI Clinic. This unnatural, exaggerated look can be caused by factors such as too much filler, the wrong type of filler used, poor practitioner technique, and incorrect product placement along the lip border. At PHI Clinic, all our lip filler treatments are carried out by highly-trained medical professionals, using premium filler designed especially for the lips. We pride ourselves on discreet, natural enhancement, and we would always underfill rather than overfill initially. If clients feel they would benefit from additional volume, this can easily be addressed at a follow-up appointment. Our client satisfaction rates speak for themselves.

How much filler will I have injected?

The exact amount will vary from person to person, and this will be discussed at your consultation. We will always choose to inject less at first, and offer a top-up if needed, to achieve natural-looking lips.

Can you drink alcohol after lip fillers?

Accepted Answer

Alcohol could potentially worsen bruising and initial swelling by dilating the blood vessels, so we would advise not drinking alcohol for 24 hours after treatment, particularly if you are prone to bruising.

Is there any downtime?

The treated area will swell slightly immediately afterward, but this should settle completely within a few days. As with any injectable treatment, there is a chance of bruising, although the risk is minimised by our expertise and the use of ultra-fine cannulas. How can I dissolve lip filler if I don’t like the result?

Hyaluronic acid dermal filler can be dissolved by injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase into the lips. This naturally-occurring enzyme breaks down the filler so it can be eliminated by the body. It is important to emphasise that the vast majority of lip filler reversal work carried out at PHI Clinic is with patients who have had unsatisfactory treatments elsewhere, often from permanent fillers that have been improperly placed. We only use temporary, natural lip fillers, which allow for flexibility and adjustments.
