When it comes to treating this section of the body, it is important to identify the cause of the concern, in this case, whether the issue is fat or loose and sagging skin. Laxity or extra weight in the neck and chin area can age a person beyond their years, and there has been a rise in non surgical jowl treatment in recent years as people combat this. With that in mind, here are three options for a reduction in the appearance of jowling along the jaw and below the chin.
Dermal filler for non surgical jowl treatment
For jowls that aren’t too severe, one of our skilled injectors can revitalise the face and lift the skin along the jaw using a non-surgical facelift treatment. This involves introducing Juvederm dermal fillers into strategic points to revolumise the face for a lifting effect.
This MD Codes Treatment (also known as the 8 point lift) is the perfect treatment for people who may not be ready to go under the knife yet, or want an all-over rejuvenating procedure that doubles as a non surgical jowl treatment.
Cryoliplysis with CoolSculpting
When fat is the cause of the appearance of jowling, there are non-invasive treatments that can be used to reduce this. CoolSculpting by Allergan has recently released new applicators for its cryolipolysis device, which can be used treat fat around the chin and neck, referred to as submental fat.
Using the CoolMini applicator, fat is cooled to low temperatures, which causes cell death. These fat cells are then flushed out of the body through natural processes, leaving a more contoured appearance, and less subcutaneous fat in the area.
Non surgical jowl treatment with skin tightening
If the issue at hand is sagging or lax skin, the course of treatment we would recommend would most usually be skin tightening. For this we use a range of devices, including ultrasound-based technologies and radio frequency treatments. Ultraformer is the former, using high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to create a controlled wound that kickstarts the body’s natural healing processes for a tightening effect. These two devices are used on different areas to lift and tighten skin, and can be used in conjunction with other treatments.
